We were there 2 weeks ago across a weekend and arrived around 40 mins before EE so was pretty much near the front for EE opening. Brisk walk up to Hagrid's and never queued more than 15 minutes each...

If you are 100% going to use them to transfer you then book as soon as you like...1 more thing to tick off...
