I hope this helps someone, last night I booked on American Airlines website direct, in August...LHR-SFO returning LAX-LHR with short layovers and great flight times and all in the summer holidays.

Wisecars, with the actual car provided by fox car rental comes up with a mini van for 17 days as £600 whereas everywhere else is over £1000
