Exclamation A Timely REMINDER

Over the last couple of years we have noticed that at this time of year some people become less friendly to others, there is a downward turn in tolerance and some are downright mean to others.

Again this year we have again noticed this trend. I'm not sure if it is after the clocks go back and grey skies roll in that causes a lack of happiness with some members, but whatever it is, this is a timely reminder that we won't tolerate rudeness, sarcasm or attacks on other members.

We have a policy now that when a member has reached a threshold of posts being deleted or reported posts against them, we place them in to moderation. Moderation still allows that member to post, however their post has to be approved before it becomes visible on the forums. We do this without warning or explanation. Members are moved out of moderation as and when we are happy to allow them to post unmoderated again.

There are always going to be disagreements between members and there will always be other members you may not get along with. Please make sure that any disagreement or dislike does not spill out on to the forums.

Recently I had to remove a few posts from a thread where some members saw fit to nit pick at another members comments rather than actually commenting on the topic in question, this is a form of cyber bullying and is not welcome here on the DIBB.

Also I would also like to highlight to members that, just because someone has a different opinion to you does not automatically make their reply rude or attacking. Remember you won't always get the replies you expect especially if it is a personal or sympathy type post.

Members are obviously entitled to their own opinions and we have no objection to members voicing alternate opinions PROVIDING they do so in a friendly and non confrontal way.

I have posted this in Chat and News as this is where the occasional problems seem to arise. It is rare that we encounter problems in the planning forums. In those forums members seem to bend over backwards to help others and the atmosphere in those forums is very friendly. Here in chat, generally it is friendly, however, very occasionally certain topics cause some members to come across rude and unfriendly.

As I say this is a timely reminder of the DIBB Rules and guidelines.

As many members have said in the past and to repeat the phrase, "If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything at all"

Please keep in mind the content of the following announcement thread

Lets have more tolerance and keep the DIBB friendly.
Thank you
