At least if you cancel them they’re available for someone else to book.
Personally I think booking them when you’re not expecting to use them is a little selfish. See more...

Because the ride can only take so many people. If I am not in that queue, be it physically or virtually, then everyone else gets to the front faster.
I'd be delighted to join a standby line that says 2 hours because they are expecting a load of fastpass people to turn up. If they don't turn up they don't leave a space they feed in standby instead.
