My son’s fiancée messaged this morning to tell me as she works for Morrisons. They visit us every Christmas (apart from last year of course) but DH has to drive them back 40 miles the same evening so she can go to work the next day.

This year she will be able to spend more time with her mum and family and us (as we live around 8 miles from her mum) and it won’t be such a rush for us all. It’s brilliant news. I’ve never been shopping on Boxing Day, I buy so much before the holiday that I barely go near a store until after the new year so I really hope all stores follow Morrisons and give their staff an extra day with their families
