That is not how the workplace goes for lots of people. Not everybody is paid by the hour, roles are task based and employment contracts require flexibility around stated hours.

Glad to hear it! But whilst not appalling, you seem to think a month off sick is good, I would find it unconcerning but not especially good. I don’t think my husband would have taken more than a few days off sick in the last fifteen years. I might be something more like your husband but I would not be thinking of myself as a good employee because of it.
