New Nighttime Shows at Walt Disney World

Disney has some new Nighttime shows coming at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Disney's Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.

Disney's Hollywood Studios celebrating it's 30th anniversary on 1st May will begin showing the new laser and light show "Wonderful World of Animation". The show will run for 12 minutes and feature every animated Disney and Pixar movie. The plan is to stay current with a new sound track and have the ability to add new animations and films as they are released.

This new nighttime show - Wonderful World of Animation is not intended as a replacement for existing shows but as an addition to the existing nighttime shows. All three shows, "Wonderful World of Animation", "Disney Movie Magic" and "Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular" could all play on a given night depending on the Park Hour schedule.

Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom a new show called "Awakenings: Lion King" will begin on Memorial Day weekend (25 May) and will project animated images of animals on to the Tree of Life

"Awakenings: Lion King" will run several times a day and each showing will last for 4 minutes. This show will run until 30 September.

At Disney's EPCOT there will be two nighttime shows that will be replacing the long running "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth". The new nighttime spectacular "Epcot Forever" will start immediately after "Illuminations" final show on 30 September. The new show celebrates EPCOT's 37 year history with fireworks, lazers and lights to a sound of classic Epcot soundtracks.

"Epcot Forever" will feature special effects never seen before at Epcot using kites designed for airborne choreography.

"Epcot Forever" is a limited time show and in 2020 will be replaced by a new yet to be named "Illuminations" nighttime show. The new Illuminations show will be on a massive scale using large floating set pieces, water fountain spray shows, fireworks, lazers and lights all accompanied my an all new soundtrack to celebrate how Disney music inspires people across the globe.

Note:
If you want to watch "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth", Disney will be live streaming the show on Tuesday 9th April at 9pm (EST) that's 2am (BST). The stream will be available at Disney Parks Blog and Disney's Youtube channel.
