We headed off to MGM, crossed the road walkway to New York New York and walked through to Excalibur. From here we took another walkway to Luxor where we caught a cab to Las Vegas Outlet Center (Belz). The first major shopping ensued – TC had travelled without many clothes and needed an urgent supply of boxer’s and socks! I managed to pick up some yoga trousers and jeans. The line in Levi’s was horrific as all the tills had failed, but we had to stick with it as our return taxi from Gatwick wanted 2 pairs of Levi’s as his fee!

We had lunch in the food court there before deciding that we would try the bus to get back. The Deuce runs up and down the Strip - $2 per trip or an unlimited 24 hours for $5. The first bus turned up OK and took us to SSTC – South Strip Transportation Center. I forgot to take a picture here but it was a strange place out in the middle of the desert – rolling brushwood and all! This is where things went wrong. The traffic on the Strip had been heavier earlier in the day and by lunchtime had become gridlocked. This meant all the buses were stuck. Already there was a huge line waiting……. and waiting…. information being very scarce, a bus finally turned up about an hour later. We all crammed on – because of the delay they were not charging. Once the bus hit the Strip – it stopped. We were tired by now but came round by the time we reached MGM to realise it would be quicker to get off and Monorail back. Which is what we did. We then needed a shower and a lie down – it was nearly 4 pm and we had left Belz at 1.20!
