I know some forums from a few years ago mentioned a number around that figure (35k to 40k) but they also said the same of the Disney parks. And clearly that's wrong! For example this site says, "IOA's capacity is 40 thousand to my knowledge (as is WDW's Magic Kingdom)" but we know that MK's capacity is just under 100k. MK's average daily attendance is 55k so the capacity must be more than this.

Magic Kingdom is approximately the same size as Universal Studios - about 108 acres. If 55,000 people can reasonably easily fit inside MK then I'd expect 55,000 to fit inside Universal Studios without reaching capacity.
