Our Epic 7 Day NYC Trip - Day 7 - Final Day

This was our check out day and we were sad to be leaving.

We didn’t rush to pack as our flight was not until 10pm and stored our luggage with the hotel to collect later on.

We left the hotel around 9:30am and caught the R train to Cortand street to have a look in Century 21.

I found a Michael Kors bag I liked and purchased and we then hopped onto the 4 train to Battery Park hoping to catch the Statue Cruise to the Statue of Liberty.

When we arrived the queue was huge with hundreds of people waiting. The ticket desk said that there was at least an hour wait so we decided to skip it as we saw some fantastic views of the Statue when we went past on the Circle Line Cruise.

We walked to the Charging bull but swarms of people were around it so we only got pics like this with the head missing.

We then caught an Uber to the 5 trade pier terminal to catch the NYC Water taxi to Dumbo,.

The water taxi was a little late but it’s a really quick way to get over to Dumbo in Brooklyn taking just 20 minutes and was free in the NYC Pass. The water was really choppy though.

Once in Dumbo we took some pictures of Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan and then headed to shake Shack for some burgers (the burgers at Shake Shack are incredible).

We then walked to the carousel, pebble beach, looked in the shops, and went to the instagramers favourite street - Water Street. Here you can get pics of Manhattan Bridge in the background.

We strolled back and chilled for a little bit taking in the view.

We then took the NYC Water taxi back and it went quite close to the statue of liberty so we were not too disappointed about missing it that morning.

We then headed to pier 84 where we caught an Uber to Macy’s for a few last bits and then headed back to the hotel to collect or luggage.

We then hailed a yellow cab and made the long journey back to JFK.
The taxi driver drove like a maniac and I felt we were on a rollercoaster at times, he also was speaking on the phone the whole journey in another language and we had to open the window as the AC was super warm.
We arrived at the airport for 7pm and dropped our luggage, then headed through security and had a look in the terminal shops, I bought some sweets for work and relatives as well as an Urban Decay Eyeshadow Pallet and we were soon boarded on our flight.

The flight was pretty uneventful with minimal turbulence and we took off 20 minutes late, we were given a cheese sandwich and Brookie at around 11pm and tried for some sleep.
I got around 3 hours and Dan 2 hours, we also purchased the entertainment but didn’t really use it.
We were happy to have landed at 9:25 as we weren’t due to land until 10am, but we then sat on the tarmac until 10:15 and then the cases took another 30 minutes to arrive on the carousel, our Taxi driver was understanding and was very patient and then we headed home for a well deserved rest.

But all in all we had a fantastic time
