We did this the other year and loved it. We paid for the smaller boat but as there was a possibility of inclement weather they decided to use the larger boat as it has a bigger engine (or that's what they told us).

We had more than enough room (there was 6 of us) and to be honest think the smaller pontoon boat would have been more than adequate. I'm sure you'll enjoy it no matter what size boat you go with
