I think you'll find most doing airport testing are going either the day before and staying overnight or even a few days before if they live close. Certainly true for me, Gatwick is actually closer than my nearest Boots that does testing. So will be popping in tomorrow on my lunch break.

Yes, anytime from Sunday onwards for a Wednesday flight is fine.
