There is certainly sense in your investment.
I had a work colleague who would selectively invest around £200 a month on Star Wars Lego, this being around the year 2000 onwards. He would place them in his loft, wait for their retirement and then watch the prices very carefully. He would generally unload them on eBay after around 7-10 years.
A great way to invest and pay no tax on your gains. He certainly always beat savings rates.
