Heading into the Sunset Day 15 - HS, Rain And The Outback

Weather today - very cloudy, rainy low 70s.

Today was a bit of an odd day. It was our last full day and we were all a bit grumpy and all wanted to do different things, Joanne wanted to see more of MK and watch the castle show and Wishes after hearing about it (they didn't think they wanted to when we went earlier); Russ wanted to take his shirt back to HS; Helen wanted a cake from Writers Stop; Jack just wanted coasters. No one wanted to miss anything out, and by the time we messed about and packed a few cases it was heading to late morning.
Russ, Helen and I headed to HS and parked in Music at 11.30 going straight to the Once Upon a Time store with the shirt (still on sale for $54.99) - the staff were shocked, as apparently 'the outlets aren't supposed to sell current stock', but we got a refund easily.
As we came out a passer by gave us FPs for ToT, so Russ and Helen took advantage of them right away before we went over to Star Tours where we got straight on and also collected FP for later. It was now time for coffee, so Writers Stop was next on the agenda and we managed to bag seats and shared a couple of huge carrot cake cookies with cappuccinos. Yum.
When we came out it was raining steadily, so Helen and Idonned ponchos - Russ forgot to take his after carrying it around in the sun for 2 weeks! We ran back to Star Tours for our FP and again almost got a walk on. By this time it was pouring down and quite cool and we dived into the Muppet Show to take cover, hoping it would ease off.
It didn't! Russ had the idea to get a Friendship to the Boardwalk for a while, so we made our way through the shops and to the front of the park calling in at Sid Cahuenga's store on the way out - fatal because of course we found something else that we wanted to buy - a Snow White picture, signed by Adriana Caselotti who voiced the character. Helen also bought a signed Walt print. Happy days, but we had to go to the car with them so didn't go on the boat.
We drove to the Boardwalk as the rain had eased off, and had to park in the overflow area, and by the time we got across the triad it was pouring again, so all we did was look around Wyland Gallery and were feeling cold and damp.
Instead of a meal there, we headed back to Formosa Gardens to the Outback for a very early (5pm) dinner. We had 2 filets, ribs, 5 drinks and a trio dessert to share, a lovely meal with great service for $93.
What we didn't know was that David and the others were over the road having their early dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings as they were also damp and cool, and the lines were long at MK so they didn't stay. What a disorganised day!
We all got back to the villa at about the same time, luckily we had all enjoyed our food so weren't too fed up at having our last night rained off.
The evening was spent in the games room, watching TV, packing ( and realising how much stuff we had accumulated in 2 weeks!), tidying up and chatting about what a fab holiday it had been before finally retiring for the last time :-(
