To be honest as long as you have the funds it matters not as you will get it 'released' once the car is returned.
I can only confirm what 99% of us on here experience namely no holds applied.
I don't think I have had any hold applied since Dollar way back in the late 90's and I rent 3 or 4 times a year out there.
By the way I have 3 Auto Europe bookings for this year and none say anything about a hold.
