Culinary Highlights October 2005 by Jackie (dcmax)
We had many fantastic meals during our October 05 visit, sampling the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot, restaurants at Disney’s resorts and parks as well as Seaworld, Busch Gardens, Universal and Anaelle & Hugo (near universal). So lots to report for all you foodie types!
At the top of the pile is
Bistro de Paris ( click link below for full review)at Epcot’s World Showcase, five stars for food and wine. Ambience and service were also second to none.
A very close second is
Bice (that’s Beechay to you) click on the link below for full review, situated in Universal’s Portofino Resort, a slightly noisy atmosphere for our tastes ( it's only fair to say this is a big problem in most large american restaurants) but the exquisite food and romantic setting more than makes up for this. It's worth staying at Universal to travel by boat to all the resorts and parks too.
Emeril’s on Citywalk @Universal will definitely be a return visit too if only to try the lobster cheesecake ( as advised by our good friend Susan. On asking the waiter he said it was currently off the menu). We particularly enjoyed our surroundings here as we were seated upstairs in one of the small private dining rooms overlooking Hard Rock across the water.
Narcoossees situated in the grounds of the Grand Floridian will also be a return visit to enjoy the water pageant and Wishes from their veranda as well as the wonderful menu. The setting is quite spectacular.
Individual restaurant reports and trip reports will be following soon ( promise) as will trip reports and videos. AK and SW vids can be seen by clicking on the link below.
