Just to update on this, I booked our return today and I couldn't use the companion voucher at the same time as changing the outbound into a return. So our Inbound is linked but not a return as such.

On another note I seem to have accrued another companion voucher too. No idea how but wish I had realised that at the start so worth asking how many companions you have.
