The novelty of those two spots is cool... for about 5 minutes. Then the rest of the meal is either too dark and cramped (Sci Fi) or insanely noisy and tumultuous (T-Rex).

Strip away the surroundings, the food at both spots is mediocre at best.

I do actually agree with you re Sci Fi, although not been to T-Rex. However both of those my OH has chosen and it was a struggle to get him to do that (decision making + men, what more can I say )- so I can't cut either really as we'll be left with just my choices!
