I'd be tempted to go for a hotel at the north end of I-drive. The Rosen Inn nearest universal or the Avanti Palms tends to be cheap. Walkable but you might want to get a taxi which should be cheap as it is less than a mile (and the cheap hotel makes up for it). If you don't feel like going to the park you have several places to eat nearby.
