Howling @ the Horror October 2015 - Day 14 - One Final Quiet Day

Back to Day 13

I can't believe we are on our final full day. We had planned to go back to Aquatica but decided that we didn't fancy a waterpark.

But that didn't stop us getting into the pool and staying there for a while in the morning.

We love the space which comes with a Villa, especially the pool. We rarely in the villa (apart from snacks and breakfast) but just having chilled drinks to hand and being able to do washing (and hang it up the garage to dry) are also pluses in our book. Even though there are only two of us we don't feel that we rattle in the villa we use (the Bolton's Dibb Villa on Windwood Bay) as the lay out of their villa means we stick mainly to the back where the kitchen dining room and master bedroom are.

We decided to head back to Universal to do the other round of the golf which we purchased earlier in the week (Invaders from Planet Putt) and some of the rides which are usually closed in HHN. Some of the effects are even better than The Haunting Round.

We will definitely do both courses again and may even try them late at night as they look brilliant when lit up!

We decided to start in IoA and then move to Universal, mainly because I wanted to get a Jack HHN Christmas decoration and we were going to try both Christmas Shops. I am pleased to report I got one and it had special treatment all the way home

As you can see its a lot emptier on a non-HHN day, this was as about as busy as either park got today! This meant we could grab a lot of rides with less 5 minutes wait time (Spiderman, Jurrassic Park, Hogwarts Express,Gringotts, Simpsons, Transformers.) We also did Twister and Shrek and the Hollywood Make-Up show.

We ended up being there until just before 5pm in the end, just chilling, no pressure to do anything. We have never really been in to repeatedly doing just the parks, but really enjoyed the chilled feeeling that comes with just "Fitting in" another day at the parks.

Then it was back for the dreaded packing - how were we going to get all of this stuff into already full bags? I left Mr W to work that problem out whilst I checked in out flights and sorted out some travel details

We couldn't decide where to go for supper tonight. Traditionally we have always gone to Longhorns on our last night but after a terrible meal last time, we vowed never to go back. (The food was cold and we were put on the table nearest kitchen where waiting staff kept dumping dirty plates on our table, we had a couple of stacks of 6 or 7 at one point).

After much discussion, we decided on Black Angus at the corner of Old Lake Wilson Road and 192. This was one of the first steak houses we visited in the States back in 2007. But we hadn't been back since the fire closed a lot of that area. It was as good as we remembered and we had great service, I think a new tradition may be born.

We decided to head home for an early night, but ended having a couple of beers around the pool and just chilling out :-)
