Porkers on Tour - Easter 2017 day 11

Day 11 Monday – Orlando Eye.

I was first up today. We hadn’t planned anything for morning and early afternoon as we were not sure how we would be feeling after visiting friends yesterday. Todays forecast was for a mixture of sun and cloud. About 11am I got a text from Janice to say her and Mark were in Ihop and the rest were still in bed.

We had a lazy morning with pool, hot tub. Tom and Ade made some lego up and we had a bit of lunch.

We showered and left at 4pm to drive to the I drive area as I had got tickets for 2 attractions. There is a free car park here which is good and it was easy to find.

I exchanged our voucher for tickets at the little booth and we decided to do the Orlando Eye first.

There were some great views from here and inside the capsule there are tablet type things that tell you what you are looking at and you can zoom in on them.

We were in a capsule on our own as it was very quiet. Tom is not too keen on heights so sat in the middle for the whole trip, which is about 20 minutes.

When we got off the boys said they were getting hungry but could wait until we had done our second attraction which was going to be Madame Tussauds..

This was good as it was very interactive with lots of props to use but being American there were some models that we were not familiar with.

When we came out Tom decided he wanted a hot dog and not a steak from the Outback which was on the site. So we sat with him in the Shake Shack with his hot dog, fries and coke $9. They also had free water and cups for people.

Next door was the Outback and we got seated straight away which was good as the one on the 192 is always so busy.

We sat outside in the setting sun which was lovely. I ordered a beef chuck steak which came with a mushroom and onion cabernet sauce , mash and steamed broccoli. It was around $10, Adrian had a pork something with chips. We had 2 pinot grigios for me and 1 bud light for Adrian. There was a nice bread starter, almost like a malt loaf. but when my main came out there was no potato, the waitress was very apologetic and said she would bring it as soon as she could, so I waited an waited a bit more in the end I started eating as I didn’t want it going cold. She eventually came out and said there was a problem with the mash would I like a baked potato instead so I said yes. That too so long to come out too I had just about finished the rest.

So needless to say I was not impressed so we might not be going there again.

After that we decided to walk over the road and play a bit more crazy golf until our bellies had gone down a little. I used the Eat ‘n’ Play card here and got some money off. We did the harder Blackbeard course and Adrian got two hole in ones and I managed to get one too. Our scores were - Adrian 44 Me 55 and Tom 57.

We drove back along the 192 and stopped for some petrol $20 worth. When we got back we went in the hot tub for a while and had a few more wines and beers. Tom went to bed around 11pm and we were not long after.
