We did the exact same itinery on Britannia in June. It was our first cruise so don't have much to compare it to.
I agree about the food and service in the MDR, it was quite hit and miss and we were quite underwhelmed. We enjoyed all the ports including Olden where we went kayaking in the morning and then on the Loen skylift. It was a very expensive day!
I'm not sure cruising is for us, it just didn't really do it for us. Maybe P&O wasn't the best choice for us, we found it a bit formal and staid.
