Whilst I haven't taken part myself, I know others that have.
They generally give something that depicts the UK - unfortunately for most US people, that means something 'London'.

But if you have a particular iconic landmark near you, or a place of interest, then that would be great too.

For ornament, it's Christmas stuff right? So a bauble or similar ... again, a local one if poss.
