For a first trip, I would agree to move to a strip based hotel. And if those two are remotely the same price, Cosmo for sure. Fantastic location and most (not the lowest tier, think they're called city) rooms have a balcony which is REALLY rare for Vegas. Although it's a party hotel so will be very expensive and busy/loud on weekends, depending what nights you're staying there.

Since there's four of you though, I'd actually recommend pricing either the Venetian or Palazzo as their base rooms are effectively junior suites so very large and easily accommodate four with room to spare. I personally prefer the Palazzo side but they're run as a single mega-hotel so you'll get the same service levels at either.

My normal recommendation would be Vdara (technically behind Cosmo, which is quite small by Vegas standards so I still consider it on strip) as it's non-smoking and no casino, so peaceful at the end of a full on day. But I don't think they do two bed rooms, only kings.
