Sorry I've only just seen this, I use 250g butter, 400g icing sugar, 100g cocoa & a splash of milk. You could add some melted chocolate in there too
This is a similar recipe bbcgoodfood/recipes/c...te-buttercream.
Another good tip I have when baking a cake is to wrap wet newspaper around the outside of the tin and tie with string, this keeps the outside from cooking quicker than the middle.
