We bought the Ring with the rechargeable battery a couple of years ago. With our model the battery just slides out the bottom of the bell to charge, some you had to unscrew. We also bought a transformer plug which fits into a waterproof connection on the back of the doorbell, it comes with several metres of cable and just plugs into the nearest socket. Despite having a fantastic WiFi signal throughout the house and all over the garden it was absolute rubbish at the exact point we wanted the bell so we got a Chime Pro, placed just inside the front door, which allows a perfect WiFi Connection.
