Summer 2016 - The Big Birthday Trip - Day 9 : SeaWorld

A nice relaxed morning in SeaWorld was the plan, but by the time we got there it was Lunch! The heat was definitely testing me on this trip and today was probably a good example of that.

We made a pretty lazy attempt to head over to Mako and found it was running at a 20 minute queue. It would be rude not to join, so we did… It actually was having technical issues… Regardless of that the queue was still only 20 minutes. Perfect! This was definitely the highlight new ride of the holiday. I think it’s Gem’s favourite ride now.

We then headed to the Spice Mill for a bit of dinner, a huge double burger for me, chicken sandwich for Gem. Decent quality food for the price, nothing to write home about.

We still hadn’t seen the new Clyde and Seymore show, so it was definitely time to right that wrong. It’s as ridiculous as the predecessor but we still prefer the mimes at the start of the show.

Next up, the long walk to the back of the park to see One Ocean once more. This was a rare occasion where the whales actually performed instead of just ignoring the trainers and messing around for ten minutes!

On leaving the show I noticed that I was feeling really light headed… So we made an important water stop. In this heat you need to pay attention to your fluid levels, I can’t stress that enough. Fortunately a bottle of water had me feeling much better.

We then decided to head home for a bit, definitely just a short trip today, we’ve now been enough times to really relax in SeaWorld.

We also cancelled our evening plans for Epcot. We were all feeling the heat and it was time to just relax and enjoy that swimming pool again.

But first we needed some eats… I’ve been recommended Manny’s Chop House a number of times and I wanted to see if we could get in there. We drove down to the one on the 27 and there was a table available in a short while so we waited for that. Steaks and ribs were the order of the day and the food was fantastic. We were having a real run of luck on this holiday food wise! I think we made up for some average meals and a below average appetite on the 2015 trip.
