Where is best place to fill up with fuel for best value on way to airport? Thanks

Anywhere near where you are staying would be better than near airport and they wont bat an eye if its a wee bit less than full or the mark it should be

We don't stress about it too much, we just fill it as much as we can and have never had any issues handing it back.

OP. Just be aware of some of the policies that some rental companies have.

For example Dollar state this.

You will need to produce a gas receipt from a refueling station that is within 10 miles of the return location.

We use a petrol station on Boggy Creek Road at the junction with Simpson (south route) which is within the required distance and competitively priced or if we are coming in via north entrance then take the non toll road McCoy and there are a couple near North Frontage Road which do not over charge.
