West Coast And Hawaii Adventure Oct/Nov 17 - Day 5: San Diego - Old Town
Tuesday 31st October 2017: Day 5 - San Diego - Old Town
Link to Trip Report Index Today would be our last day in San Diego and it was also Halloween - so Jacob and I were very excited to make the most of it. Because we would be setting off for Anaheim super early tomorrow morning I wanted to make sure we were packed up ready to go before we left for today's activities. So we didn't head out for breakfast until a little bit later than usual. When we were ready we set off for Liberty Station again to eat at Breakfast Republic. This was another great breakfast location, with so much choice for what to eat it was hard to decide, but in the end I went for the Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelette and Jacob had the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. They didn't do children's size portions but this was great as it meant I could steal of of his 3 pancakes for myself! To drink I had a yummy chai latte. I loved seeing quite a few adults dressed up for halloween already - it made me even more excited for the day - and Jacob decided he wanted to put on his costume as well, so after we finished eating he got into his tiger costume. He was really pleased with all the attention this generated! Next we drove over to Old Town San Diego State Historic Park, which didn't take more than about 5 minutes, and found a parking spot in a lot that gave us 3 hours free parking. First up was a visit to Whaley House - San Diego's most haunted house - a very apt start to the day for Halloween! We bought our tickets from the little house/shop next door and enduring a harsh lecture on the rules of the house before we were allowed to leave. I felt like I was back at school. The lady was so harsh in fact that when at the end of her lecture she spoke to Jacob and told him he could push the special button because he was a child, he obeyed with as much enthusiasm as if it were a punishment! The button made a scary crow in a cage start talking and a skeleton eyes start flashing. So it should have actually been quite fun! To be continued... (I'm updating while we are still on the trip so will do as much as I can when I can, so please bear with me!)

I'm with you now 😀Looking forward to updates when you have time!
I have a Jacob too who was mad into animals at that age, shame he has grown out of it and no longer wants to be a rhino keeper 🙁 |
