For us in Aug 2018, non swim day package (not ultimate) was showing at $200. Black Friday ultimate was $194. So $6 per person saving.
The difference in swim tickets was much greater, $256 on Black Friday compared with $340 on the usual site.

It is less of a deal if you don't want the dolphin swim and don't get in 'high season' but the gift voucher version also gives you 14 days access to Busch Gardens as well (which you don't get on a day ticket bought from the official site). A day ticket for Busch Gardens, according to their official site, alone is $89

Ah ok, that does sound a better deal then. Not planning on going to BG though so I guess buying it on the DC website no different to us

You can add BG for $25 to a DC ticket .. but the Black Friday deal still saves you $30 dollars ( peak season ) still naughty of them to say it’s hundreds though as it just isn’t . The swim ticket is much better value in the sale ( for peak season )

Orlandoattractiontickets currently have a Black Friday deal for Discovery Cove dolphin swims for £15 off per person with the code DC15.

Bought my tickets for £175, going in February, certainly cheaper than booking direct

That's true - just spotted that myself.

Can you only book shark swim, sea venture and/or the other 'extras' at the time of the original booking (I forgot to add it when using the discounted gift voucher) ? Or can you pay them at the gate when you arrive ?

They said you could save "up to $110". Which is true.

This is no different to almost every other sale that goes on. Sales are often "up to" a certain percentage and most items aren't actually reduced by the amount claimed. As long as at least one item meets that percentage discount or $110 reduction then there's nothing naughty going on.
