I guess we're grown ups now? Nah, maybe next week! Oct 2016 Part 1 - Highs and Not So Highs

Index

Thank you for reading along! Sorry it's taken so long to complete!

When we booked Vegas I was so ridiculously excited to go somewhere new and go to all the places we’d seen on TV and in film. But after the first day I was feeling a bit disappointed with the place. I thought that the casinos were really sad places and I just didn’t have the excited feeling I thought I’d have. BUT after the first day, after we did more exploring and we moved away from the sad slot machines and onto the fun tables I really started to enjoy myself and I really did love every minute!

Highs
The flight! We loved flying premium. We had loads of leg room, free drink, nice food and good entertainment. It was a really pleasant flight and a great way to start the holiday.
The Vdara hotel. Great location, bang in the middle of the strip. Lovely and quiet. Amazing suites. Great pool. I could go on and on about how much I loved it and without a doubt we would stay there again! The best thing about it was...
Our view. After our amazing upgrade we got a fountain view room and we loved it. I think we watched the fountains from our window every single night. I wish they did a Disney and piped the music in though. I don’t think we could stay again and not get a fountain view room.
Wicked Spoons. Oh my days I wish my stomach was bigger! Ross definitely got his money’s worth, I would have eaten so much more if I wasn’t so full! Our favourite meal and on the top of our must eat list for any return visit.
Slotzilla zipline over Fremont Street. So much fun! Despite getting stuck at the end and needing to be rescued it was an amazing experience.
Count’s Kustoms. With us being huge fans of the show it was great to see it in person.
Grand Canyon helicopter tour. What can I say? I know why its one of the eighth wonders of the world! The helicopter ride was loads of fun and drinking bubbly in the Grand Canyon was ridiculous!
The white chocolate mousse cake from Carlos. Yes, it really was that good!
Criss Angel. He is amazing and the show was out of this world! He definitely went to Hogwarts! Or probably Ilvermorny.
Scoot City Tour. Lots of fun and a great way to get lots packed in to one morning.
Views from the top of the Stratosphere. And the ride. Great fun!
Blackjack Once we moved from slots to tables I had great fun. I know I just watched Ross play blackjack for most of the holiday but even that was quite fun and once I started to play myself it was even better. I just wish I’d had to courage to play sooner! And we actually came away in profit which not many people can say on their first trip to Vegas. Go us! Well... mainly Ross.
Magnet collecting. Very cheap way to collect mementos!
The fountains. My absolute favourite thing in Vegas!
Everything really! I just loved wandering up and down the strip, looking in the hotels and taking in the sights. It’s true what they say about Vegas. It has to be seen to be believed!

Not so highs/observations
Prices. Food, drink and attractions. On the strip everything was very, very expensive! Fremont Street was a lot more reasonable.
Homeless folk. There was a lot. All with a sob story written on a bit of cardboard. Felt awful for most of them. Some of them though, didn’t look remotely homeless or poor and probably begged for a living.
Tony Romas. Awful food. Really really bad!
The amount of really young kids up super late. We saw so many kids asleep in buggies while the parents shoved a few dollars in slots. Not cool.
Secret Garden @ Mirage. I felt awful for all the big cats. I’ll never go there again!
The huge lack of ATM fish tanks. We didn’t see any!
Leaving! I loved it and cant wait to go back one day!

That's all for Vegas folks! If you'd like to read part 2, please do! Once I get it written up
