Should I keep the car for longer?
I have hired a car for three days for our upcoming trip to collect at the airport and drop off at LBV. My thinking was I would do our shopping trips early on and then Uber if we need to.
We are staying at Delta on LBV and just doing Disney, they have a shuttle and there is a Lynx bus to TTC from outside. I'm now thinking should I keep the car for the whole trip? The thing thats putting me off is the parking charges, the hotel charge $15 pn and then Disney parking charges push it up even further so that the parking charges end up costing more than the car hire! I would like the convenience of the car but is it worth the extra money which adds up to a considerable sum? |

Personally, i would not do Florida or even America (excluding NYC) without a car.
I would send a cheeky but polite email to the hotel asking if they offer any discount for long stay parking. (most American guests only stay less than a week)

An Uber from your hotel to Disney is about $10, so I would stick to your original plans if I was you. I don't know much about the cost of shuttles or buses, but Uber is so convenient and will save money and the long walk back to the car at the end of the day. We usually drive about 2500 miles each trip so always have a car, but don't think it's a necessity if you're only travelling short distances and spending most of your time in the parks.

Thank you both for your very different replies! I think I am leaning towards the Uber option as pricewise it will probably work out a similar price or a bit cheaper? This is a milestone birthday trip for me and I am planning on having quite a few cocktails along the way so I wouldn't be using the car that much anyway, decisions decisions!
