He's beautiful and I'm so pleased you've bonded with him.
We got a puppy last year a Shih Tzu and it took a lot of hard work to get through the first few weeks but so worth it.

Wow, as a black lab father of 2 (mother and daughter) I only like black labs
But that is one handsome chap, stunning dog, you will have years of love both ways from him, well done. |

He is adorable! Some great pictures, thanks for sharing.
I remember when we first got Tilly, she would cry all night for over a week! I was so sleep deprived. But it’s worth it in the end x x |

Hi Lisa,
So lovely to see your pictures. You look so happy. My boyfriend surprised me on Sunday by taking me to choose a black lab puppy to bring home in a couple of weeks. I'm so utterly excited, as its a childhood dream, but I'm a bit anxious too as I work full time, (don't worry my boyfriend only works til 2, and his sister, Mum and Auntie all only work part time and live next door or round the corner) and we're going through a house renovation. I know he'll be absolutely fine with family in the mornings, but I'm not half going to beat myself up leaving him in those first few weeks when he's only small.

Don’t you worry, it sounds like you have it covered with everyone. I’m starting now on working on leaving him in his crate in the daytime for little short periods, not because I need to but because I think it’s important he does get used to. You never know when you may have to leave him and I want him to know it’s ok and I come back.
Me and DH are having a mini respite break from DD and my DS and girlfriend are having her overnight with carers I the daytime and of course Barney now too. They work shifts so needs to be used to being left in preparation for that. Enjoy your puppy and take it from someone who knows DO NOT PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON YOURSELF TO BE THE BEST FUR MUMMY YOU CAN... Make the most of those early puppy days and they grow so so quickly it has astounded me how big he is already... If you want to ask him for a request on Facebook you could read back on everydays blog since i started writing them which was quite early on, you will see how stressed I was and could learn by my mistakes! |
