A Decade of Disney Dreaming - 2017- Day 22- A Rarity, we had a day off!

Welcome back -and I have to admit I can't remember posting two days so quickly after each other.

Today offers something very different and was needed by each of us.

Thursday 17th August 2017

Even the bin man could not wake the boys up today.

After three firework nights in a row and for the first time this trip we chose not to make use of the Disney ticket today – yes, we had got this far and only now found a non Disney day!

The plan was to simply chill out a bit and get those last minute shopping jobs done, so we could enjoy the finale to our whole trip.

That possibly seems a strange thing to type, but amidst everything that a holiday to Florida affords – you really do need to think about how it all ends – We ditched a park day today to ensure we got a finish that will be a true finale and an end to the whole trip that everyone would want.

Today, that plan meant - We were heading to Premium Outlets at the top of I drive and the shopping began!

Adidas - two tops for me, trousers for Al.

Five Guys lunch with refillable drinks, which were well used

We explored the rest of the mall and got something in Clinique .

A quick stop in at the Nike clearance shop brought a Joe golf top – in blue and white stripes.

We saw some golf shoes for Josh but were mindful that we had seen them cheaper in another Nike shop - Josh had taken a photo so identifying the store was easier than usual!

A trip to Lake Buena Vista Mall later, and a new pair of golf shoes purchased at just $34 – now a live update on these shoes and a reminder that you get what you pay for!

Josh has recently bought a new pair of golf shoes as these Nike ones had a health warning after so much wear since purchasing, they had a growing aroma that meant that they were never welcome in the house after golf and they had been exiled to the garage in order to avoid the smell!

If only my words could express the smell – they will always fall short amid this aroma! Cheap shoes and a bargain that really did not pay off!

A Walmart stop for ribs, the Wawa for some cash, followed by Publix for beer and cider
(it was cheaper here than in Walmart)

Amidst huge rain on the 192 we got back and enjoyed the pool and beers and just chilled out – that was the whole point of today!

As we made dinner, Joes iPad headphones decided they would snap inside his iPad. Poor lad was not too happy, he was gutted beyond belief but was relieved to know it was the headphones and not him! The part remains inside his iPad as we found a get round without taking the thing apart -bluetooth headphones were on order when we got home.

Amidst a night spent eating, drinking and in the hot tub time pressed on without us even knowing - with the boys solid asleep, we were later to bed than we should have been- so much for an early night!

Refreshed we had plans for Friday.

Preparing for the grand finale, it's better to go out with a bang than a whimper, so a good idea to have a chilled out day today. I'm glad my tablet doesn't have smellovision, oh dear that sounds dreadful!

I should add it was one of those Cosmetics shops - it was Clinique and even under threat of torture I would have no idea what was bought.

Be glad of that lack of smellovision

I'm glad you see the thinking - a day off meant that we could enjoy that finale. By this point in the holiday we were really suffering, early mornings and late nights and loving every minute of the holiday.
We still had one last surprise up our sleeves too
