Some things depend if hall of residence or self-catering house/flat.
A bit like trying to get as much storage as possible out of Disney resort rooms, these kinds of things can be very useful: - ikea/gb/en/products/...la%7C%7C%7C%7C ikea/gb/en/products/...la%7C%7C%7C%7C

I bought my son a pair of Adidas Sliders as he was sharing a bathroom. Those things have never been off his feet including all winter! His other big use item was a mini fridge. His favourite items move in day were new music posters and a plastic multi photo wall hanger with photos mainly of his friends and their summer before Uni. Back of door hooks were also a good buy.

Oh. Also additional cushions for his bed. They spend a lot of time on their beds so good to be able to prop themselves up.

Door stop to prop open their doors - this is really helpful when they first move in so that their flat mates feel welcome to pop in and say hi.
My DS loved his student cook book and leaned how to make chillis, curries and quesadillas. I also left some of the more sturdy Tesco shopping bags so that he could carry his grocery shopping home. Laundry bag ... essential for the washing run...

I didn't have one in uni but I do have a heated clothes airer now and wouldn't be without it! I got mine in Aldi and it was half the price of anywhere else so it will be worth looking out for it coming back in stock this autumn!

Can I just say you can buy 8 doorstops in a multi pack From Home Bargains for £1.99 (I got a pack last year for my son) so yes, useful, but not sure I’d nominate it as a great gift TBH!
Edited. Ignore this. I’m misixng up the Uni gift thread and this one sorry 😐 Edited at 09:55 PM. |
