Can I persuade my family to wear matching Tshirts? August 2018 - Day 3 - outlets and Mall
Monday 20th August
I was woken today at 3am by a noise. Andy thought it sounded like sprinklers. I seem to be sleeping very lightly. I made myself go back to sleep even though I felt wide awake. I then got woken by the sound of paper rustling. It was now 6am and it was Josh opening his 60 pack of Reece’s cups. I was impressed I’d gone back to sleep though and 6am wasn’t bad. We got up for tea on the lanai about 6.30, it was pitch black. Andy went for a run, I read a while then decided to try the spa, again it was very chilly. Nice sunrise this morning. The boys came out about 7.30 and were straight in the pool. The American schools were back today and Andy said the roads were full of school buses while he was out running. They get picked up very early. Andys choice for breakfast today and it was another of our faves, Bob Evans. As we planned to spend the morning back at the villa, I suggested we went to the one on the 27 as it was nearer than the one on 192. Andy was very perturbed at going to a different Bob! I had my usual country biscuit breakfast, Josh had French toast with a side of bacon. Andy and Dan had a rise and shine. This was Dan’s first savoury breakfast he’s normally a pancake fiend! Service was great and it was all delicious. It came to $41 which included a coupon for 20% off and Andy had picked up a tumbler/flask which was $10. We decided the plan for the day would be outlets followed by the Mall @ Millenia but first more pool time. I am loving lazy days by the pool and can’t actually imagine going to a park. We got ready to go out about 1pm and were off to Premium Outlets on International Drive. As we drove in I thought the car park was empty and that we’d get a space easily, turns out all the parking by the entrance is charged at $15. The rest was really busy with people waiting for spaces as people were leaving. We drove round the back and got a space at the back of Forever 21 which was great because that shop had a back door so we could walk straight through and be in the shops. We split up from the boys again and they went off once more with their holiday money. It was a really hot day which was lovely but it was a huge relief to pop into shops just for a cool down. The first shop we came to that I wanted to have a look in was Kate Spade. I was still interested in a red bag (as per all previous trippies!). They had lots of lovely small cross body red bags but I wanted a big one, then I spotted one under a display table, it was perfect and the only one of its kind. The price tag said $300 but there were various signs around with 70% off displayed. I thought it was time I stopped looking at red bags and actually bought one! It cost $114. I love it! We did a lap of the stores trying to avoid the people at the kiosks offering jewellery cleaner or ‘gold’ phone cases. There was nowhere else we really wanted to go so we sat and waited for the boys. Josh came back laden with bags and had spent nearly all his money (day 3🙄. He’d bought under shorts, socks, shorts and a sweater. Dan decided he wanted a particular type of trainer, he had seen them in a shop but couldn’t remember which one. I couldn’t face another round of the outlets looking for trainers (here we go again - as per all previous trippies!), it was too hot. As we were going to the mall next I said I’m sure you can get them there... So, at Mall @ Millenia, we were all in need of a drink from the food court first then we split up again. The boys can bicker and wind each other up when we’re all together but when they are on their own together they get on great and are very sensible. They enjoyed not traipsing round my shops. Andy and I went to Bath and Body first, we just bought 5 soaps for gifts and Andy got some cologne. I’m not buying myself any this year... there were lots of Halloween soaps and candles. Then Sephora where I decided to get the Clinique skin care items I use, I also bought a highlighter. I was hoping for some freebies but was out of luck today. We met up with the boys and Dan hadn’t been able to find the trainers. He was now getting hangry. Josh had chosen tea tonight and his venue of choice was Longhorn. We headed back to the one at Rolling Oaks on 192. I was expecting the I4 to be awful as it was 6pm and I heard how busy it is but it was ok actually. We got to Longhorns at 6.30. I had prime rib with a loaded baked potato, Andy had a steak and ribs combo with fries, Josh had a T-bone with fries. Dan often struggles with his choices, he’s not a huge fan of steak, says he doesn’t like ribs (but eats them at home), often says chicken is dry, he’s not awkward at all! I don’t know whether he just gets overwhelmed with the menus. So he chose a prime rib sandwich with fries. We had salads and bread to start, it was all super delicious as always and the server was great. She thought it was funny that after placing our order we’d changed seats so the boys could see the tv screens and that would completely confuse the runners that would bring our food as they know who’s having what from here they are sitting. Of course, it didn’t as they just put it all down and we had to switch it around. Dan struggled with his and didn’t really enjoy it, ours was all delicious. It was $123 including tip. We called into Publix on the way home to get breakfast items as we are eating in in the morning. Then sat on the lanai writing my notes and watching the lightening. In our ‘essential’ shop on the first night I’d bought some Ben & Jerry’s Tonight Dough, I had a bowl of this which was yum. Dan went back in the pool, he absolutely loves it. We went to bed at 10pm which was pretty late for us!

Glad to see that you finally got your Kate Spade handbag after looking in NYC and Orlando last year.
Bob's for brekkie and Longhorn dinner. Two of our favourites. Mick

Love the bag! Can’t beat a red handbag!
Another busy day! Retail therapy is always a good choice - especially when the kids are old enough to sort themselves out

Another great non park day. Lovely bag Emma
Bob Evans and Longhorns are 2 of our faves as well. All of your food looks great, shame Dan didn't enjoy his steak sandwich.
