Avis group D car through BA
I have booked through BA and picked group D because group E looked to be the same as Alamo’s small SUV option. I’ve just read the FAQs here and discovered that it’s actually the same as a standard.
I know that we’re fine with Alamo full-size, but it’s a squeeze to get everything in the boot. We’re a family of 4 with both kids still in car seats. We normally have 3 cases plus a small holdall and 3 x hand luggage. Will we regret Avis group D? Does anyone know if we can upgrade the car with a BA package and only pay the difference in the car hire element? Thanks |

According to BA group E is a Ford Fusion Sedan or similar...not an SUV
Group D is a VW Jetta or similar Sedan( like a VW Golf with a boot instead of a hatch. If it’s just for the airport runs you would possibly get two cases in the boot, plus maybe the hold-all or the hand baggage the other case can go in the gap between the front and back seats as the kids legs shouldn’t get in the way due to the car seats boosting the height. |

It turns out that I was looking at group F as the next one up, and that is the small SUV. Group E for some reason is more expensive!
We wouldn't be able to safely get a case in the back between car seats so I've upgraded to group F. |

You most probably know this already, the Ford Escape they mention is the same as the Ford Kuga in the U.K. so you could go into your local Ford dealer to see the space in the back.
Glad you got sorted. |
