I never expected that! - Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando
As my kids are now all grown up, I really didn't pay much attention to the news about the addition of Sesame Street at SeaWorld Orlando. Having no idea of the place in my head it was quite a surprise to turn the corner and be met with a large immersive land.
There were buildings and streets. Funny that! I just imagined a revamped kids play area with a few characters. How wrong was I? SeaWorld have done a great job with the theming of the area. From the shops that kids will know from the television programs. Such as the Laundromat and Hoopers Store. To the rides and the kids splash and soak areas. These are vibrant and full of character. Nothing beats cooling the kids off in the water. I felt like jumping in myself in the Florida heat. Make sure you take a change of clothes for the kids and some more sun cream. And then there is the parade. Again I wasn't expecting much. Just a few characters on a float driving up to the road waving. But once again I was blown away with the interaction. The floats and characters dance into the street and then they stop. The characters get to dance and play with the kids in a safe way without the floats moving. From what I saw the kids were having a great time and they loved it. I have made a short video of the general area and the parade. Moving on to the character meets there is a dedicated inside area for Cookie Monster and Elmo. And yes you are welcome to take your own pictures. It is also a great way of cooling off from the sun. Air conditioning, the best attraction in Florida by far! I had to get a couple of pictures just for research purposes only of course. Let's face it. I was wrong. My wife will be shocked that I actually said those words. Sesame Street in SeaWorld is much much more than a revamp of the old kids play area. They have done an amazing job and I think that parents with young kids will have a hard time dragging the children away from the fun there. Edited at 09:00 AM. |

I might just forget the toddler Bev - and go and party on my own. I used to have a real thing for cookie monster and big bird when I was growing up. I don't know how big a thing it is for UK kids though - how familiar with the characters they will be.

Oh how I wish this was open last year when my youngest loved Elmo !
He now states that Elmo is for babies because he is now grown up (aged 6) We won’t get to see it until next year so he will be an old man by than at a grand old age of 7! However, I used to love Sesame Street so I will love it! I actually can’t wait 😂😂 |

Cookie Monster is the one on the left, just in case anyone was wondering.
It looks great Simon!
