Weather can be good. Its a case of watching the weather report.

We had about 40 miles visibility to south Scotland from our tent,Bassenthwaite, Skiddaw and Blencathra to our front, Helvellyn to our side. Full 4g too. Starlit cloudless sky, no wind and a nice dip in the tarn for breakfast.

Taking a holiday in the UK is not a choice or an option for us leaving us with only cancelled holidays and nothing to look forward to until we are able to travel abroad again.

How come U.K. not an option?

I have no issues holidaying in the UK, it’s just finding somewhere we’re happy with. We went to Bridlington at February half term, staying 4 nights at the Premier Inn, and we are now going to Scarborough at October half term, but staying in an apartment for 4 nights. For us a British holiday is just a chance for a change of scene, and do something different. A holiday to North America is what we prefer, but can’t afford every year, we tried AI in Portugal last year, but it just wasn’t for us.

Yes the great British weather can be hit or miss, but like when we went to the coast in February, I don’t mind if it’s cold and crisp, as long as it’s not too windy or rainy.

ETA I’m also now glad I booked our October trip on Wednesday night.

We've got Scotland booked for in just over weeks time. The weather is bound to have turned by then, but you know what I don't really care much.
It'll just be nice to go somewhere different, the b&b we've booked has a fire pit on our patio if the weather is fine, and if not a nice log fire in the living room😀.

I love holidaying in the UK, OK sometimes not cheap (especially with certain categories of hotels) but for me personally I like a nice min 4* hotel, good restaurant(s), preferably in house spas, with beautiful scenery and history on my door step. I’m not a lover of hot weather, the ideal would be warm or warm’ish with dry weather but if it rains I just spend more time in the spa relaxing.

We find the UK overpriced, parking difficult, accommodation often overpriced and the weather far too unpredictable.
