If the test centre is 3.2 miles away could he not just get a taxi there and back and get the test. It would be easier than trying to argue with the employer.

They say not to arrive by taxi or public transport. Hes got the test coming via post, he doesnt mind doing it, but seems unfair he loses out due to someones flatmate having it.

What does his contract say? No one here can answer the question without knowing his contracted terms and conditions.

Anyone can have a test. If he can’t get to a test centre could he not have one posted to him?

Yes, he received the postal one yesterday, but not getting picked up till Tuesday, so no work this weekend. Im just questioning how he has to made to go without pay, when they are not allowing him ti work. Hopefully hes back next weekend x

Assuming he is not on a zero hours contract or has some other clause in his contract that enables being “laid off” without pay, then it does not sound correct to me.

I do not believe that he needed a test just because a manager’s flat mate had a positive test either and closing down the whole club seems over the top too. I really think the employer should read up on government guidance.

I would suggest your son digs out his contract and gives ACAS a call.
