That’s the big downside to them plus we live quite close to a cement factory so even more dust☹️
I try and do a couple every week so I don’t spend hours doing them all at once.

We had a quote for wooden shutters (not the blind version) £700 for each window.

I really the wooden shutter blinds, I imagine those are very expensive!
I also like wooden blinds but can’t decide on string or tape.
They need to be pretty decent at blocking out light too because two of the windows are bedrooms.

Do you have blinds? Would you recommend them?
Or do you have something else that you would recommend?
I want something really nice but also functional for my nice new windows 😉

We buy all our wooden slat blinds from blinds2go. We have them made with tapes, just think they look better with tapes. Lots of colours to choose from (ours are white) and service is good. Easy enough to fit yourself and a big cost saving on getting a company round to measure up and supply. Have a friend who ordered one from a localish company, he paid about £350 for it, about £120 on blinds2go and they look exactly the same.
If you go to Hollarys blinds etc you will pay a small fortune.

Wooden 50mm slats with strings.
We’ve always had blinds in all of our houses.
When choosing whether to have tape or string, we asked the fitter and he recommended strings as when they discolour over time, the tapes will show that up more.

We also chose 50mm slats as the thinner ones can look a little ‘busy’ on certain windows.
