SSR ...is a Preferred really worth the extra points?
Hi i have booked a Standard 2 bed at SSR as i was really not convinced that a 10 min or so longer walk from Standard areas to DS was worth the extra points.
Especially as i would always go for less points over a view. As we are not there until Xmas all rooms will be refurbed as well I know the view and location are important to many but i cant see it for myself or am i not seeing the advantage of a preferred clearly Thanks

We love the preferred section and have stayed there twice on cash bookings but now we are dvc members (wahoo… still new and excited) we wouldn’t use our points for it. Unless it was only a couple of nights stay and I’d be tempted x

My thinking would be exactly the same as yours.
Request Grandstand and you can walk over the bridge and into the top end of DS. We like that walk, particularly if we are going to Splitsville or AMC Theatres. View isn’t important to me and we are all very able so the walk isn’t a problem either. We would always choose less points and standard room if it is available. |

Not for me, although the view is nice if you get one of DS.
We don’t mind walking, we love it. It’s hardly far anyway, way overblown, often by Americans.

Absolutely not, we stayed at CP many times over the years before it was designated preferred. Would not pay any extra points.

Agreed! We stayed in Grandstand last time, and we actually preferred getting the little boat from behind the main building instead of walking - I wouldn't pay extra points either, DS is so closeby either way!

Not for us, we loved CP when no-one wanted it! But the bottom end of the Paddock is pretty close, literally just across the road. Grandstand for us, especially if you are using transport- near enough first on/first off.

We were happy with Grandstand - first on the bus and the pool over there was always empty. At night time we virtually had it to ourselves.

We've stayed in Carousel, which is probably the furthest walk to Springs, meaning it took around 5-10 minutes, it's a very pleasant walk, especially first thing in the morning.
Being so far away from hot coffee was annoying so we just made our own in the room.

Don’t bank on getting a good view staying at preferred
Mr tomorrow will vouch for this with the view we always get which is the bus stop, I find the grandstand a nice walk to the West side if Disney springs
