Really fancy this for next big family holiday, specifically Riu Palace on Palm Beach. Dave thinks I'm so obsessed with it I will be disappointed, anyone been there please?

We've been lucky enough to have done three Caribbean cruises and visited most of the big names but none of the Dutch A B C islands. There are cruises from Florida that do these three so following with interest.

That's actually next to the hotel I'm eyeing up Mick. We really are going back to the seventies aren't we?

We’ve been to Aruba five or six times as part of Caribbean Cruises and we’ll be back in November. It feels the most touristy of the ABC islands. The ‘high rise’ area of Palm Beach has the most going on - water sports, bars etc. We like the ‘low rise’ Eagle Beach area which is a bit quieter and feels more laid back. Oranjestad is worth a wander round and access around the island is easy on local buses and taxis. It’s safe to go off on your own and explore (unlike some Caribbean islands) and lives up to its strap line of One Happy Island.

Thank you. I don't normally go for the high rise areas but this hotel has absolutely captured my imagination. Plus if all goes to plan we will be a very mixed age group of 3 generations and water sports would be very appreciated (if not by me).

BA announced a new flight to Aruba yesterday but not sure of the details. Essex Sue you could always have a look on ba.com if it is of interest to you.
