How do you request Specific Rooms at POFQ
Are there rooms at POFQ that are better located than others?
If so what are they and how do you make a request in order to try and secure one? Also do i have to request bedrails in advance? |

Hi
We are staying at POR, so not sure about the best rooms at POFQ, but do know if you wish to specify a certain block/view/floor, you should call POFQ front desk, or fax them, with your request. I know if you get a friendly member of staff, they are more than pleased to do this for you. However, you are not likely to be on the system until a couple of days before you arrive. Your room will be allocated, but your name etc, is not provided by your travel provider until then. So leave it a week before you go. If not, discuss at check-in, where you are situated and if you don't like it, I hear they are most obliging to change it. Port Orleans French Quarter Phone: 001-407-934-5000 Fax Number: 001-407-934-5353 Hope this helps!

We stayed there in January and when we booked, the travel agent asked us where we wanted our room as we have a LO and didn't want to be too close to the pool. It's a lovely resort and I honestly don't think any of the room are in a bad position. We were very impressed with it and the staff couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Have a great time.

Does anybody know of a plan of the complex that shows various blocks, the pool area, car parks, river location etc?
Just something basic will do so that i can get a feel for the resort and where might be a good place to ask for a room. |

This is quite a good site for park and resort maps. Just click on the resort you want.

we stayed in Building 2, right on the end nearest the food court. That was about as perfect a room as you can get, but I don't think there are any bad rooms. Depends what is important to you, do you want to be near your car, near the bus, near the pool, or the food court? I'd pick one of those places and mention that.
Do you prefer upstairs or down. We like ground floor as we generally have a stroller, so that is usually our only request. |

The clearest & most usefully detailed map of Port Orleans that I know of is THIS PDF ONE.
The building I've heard being recommended the most is number 5, which is slightly better than 2 in terms of access to the food court and the bus stop - but there's honestly not a lot in it, it's quite a small resort. Water View rooms (i.e. facing the river or swimming pool) are charged at a premium rate so unless you have paid extra you probably won't get those areas unless it's quiet and you get offered an upgrade.
