CBD Gummies

A family member has recently started using CBD Gummies (hemp extract) which is helping with pain relief and anxiety. Having looked through previous threads it seems there were legal issues with having CBD products in Florida in 2019/20 but I can see that there was a change in law in mid-2020.

Does anyone know if you can take these to Florida now? She would not be taking them into the parks but consuming at the villa.

A quick Google & it's a minefield, a lot of websites state 0.3% so if the "gummies" are stronger than this then I'm not sure. It's also worth pointing out that you aren't in "Florida" until you have gone through passport control so federal not state law prevails. Worst case there appears to be plenty of places to buy it once there.
TBH I regularly post a bit of a "mickey take" in saying just tell them that "the dibb said it was ok" but in all seriousness unless someone on here works in Florida/Federal Law or the TSA, any answer you get has a 50/50 chance of being right IYKWIM

Just did a quick search and CBD products, whether for recreational or medicinal purposes are prohibited from Disney and Universal property. SeaWorld & Busch Gardens however allows it lol Though most of these articles are pre 2020.

Your best bet might be to buy some out there. I Googled CMD gummies Orlando and there are a few places mentioned. Health food stores and the like seem to sell them too.

There is a place called 'SunMed' who specialise in CBD of all kinds. They have a website if you google them.

I also checked Amazon and it appears that you could have some delivered to your accommodation? You'd have to see if they will deliver in Florida but that might be worth a try. we had

Publix also sell the CBD gummies by the looks of this website...
greenroads.com

https://greenroads.com/collections/c...25#cbd-gummies

Their store locator shows all the places in florida that stock their products.

I hope this helps.

This is what the TSA states on their website:

https://www.tsa.gov/travel/security-...ical-marijuana

Medical Marijuana
Carry On Bags: Yes (Special Instructions)
Checked Bags: Yes (Special Instructions)

Marijuana and certain cannabis infused products, including some Cannabidiol (CBD) oil, remain illegal under federal law except for products that contain no more than 0.3 percent THC on a dry weight basis or that are approved by FDA. (See the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, Pub. L. 115-334.) TSA officers are required to report any suspected violations of law to local, state or federal authorities.

TSA’s screening procedures are focused on security and are designed to detect potential threats to aviation and passengers. Accordingly, TSA security officers do not search for marijuana or other illegal drugs, but if any illegal substance is discovered during security screening, TSA will refer the matter to a law enforcement officer.

The final decision rests with the TSA officer on whether an item is allowed through the checkpoint.

In no way is this official advice but I would have thought CBD gummies will be fine given that typically they don’t contain THC which is the more controlled element of marajuana as that’s the part of the ‘drug’ that has psycho-active elements. The CBD is more for anti-inflammatory and anxiety related issues.

That is my understanding at least but I’m neither a user nor a qualified expert. Would suggest doing some Google research or failing a steadfast answer, find somewhere to buy them in Orlando, there will be no shortage of options.

TBH the Dibb is not the place for advice on what is or isn't illegal What happens today might not happen tomorrow with a different TSA agent so as per previous advice just buy it there, unless you want to go with "... but the Dibb said so ... " The advice is still current at 0.3

You can bring CBD gummies to Florida as long as they are derived from hemp and contain less than 0.3% THC.
When I went to Florida recently, I took CBD gummies that have 0.0% THC just to be on the safe side. Mine were from Joy Organics. If you're not sure about other stores' products, you can buy from this store.

The agency when arriving at the border will be Customs and Border Protection (CBP) not TSA. and are kind of like our security when we go outbound. When I worked in UKBF if they detected anything in bags before someone boarded the plane then we would be called but when a plane has landed and still to clear its CBP that would be scanning bags and internal movement rules apply differently to ones coming from external. CBP officers do look for drugs and scan for them so TSA rules cannot be applied in these circumstances.
You would need to look at those border checks and really truly understand whether they apply. Taking advice on the internet is very very risky and where drugs and import into a country is concerned you do run the risk of refusal and return to country of origin or arrest.
