wales - Similar to Barmouth

Just back from Barmouth, loved it, loved the small harbour, the crabbing, the beach was lovely and it was a nice little town

So we are based in the North West, not wanting to travel more than 3 hours for a 4 night stay ( so Tenby is out - where else would be similar?

Conway and Criccieth are both lovely they both have castles as well if that’s of interest, or there’s Beaumaris on Anglesey

Abersoch or Aberdaron ?

Day trip to portmeirion. Harlech, snowden. Plenty to do. Beautiful beach.

Abersoch will be slightly more busy than aberdaran but beach is blue flag and food is amazing. Quite expensive to stay in the immediate area normally.

I like Caernarfon but possibly a bit busier for you. Coed Helen campsite /lodges is nice and walkable to the town.

Have a lovely time wherever you go.

Another vote for Aberdaron and whistling sands beach

If you go to Aberdaron make sure you visit Uwch Mynydd, it’s national trust land and usually very quiet, you can drive to the top and it has the most spectacular views across to Bardsey and back along the Llyn Peninsula towards Snowdonia, it’s one of our favourite places to visit x
