Lake District / Peak district area recommendations

As it looks like holidays next year might have to be staycations
We have a wedding to go to at the end of May in Gretna Green so we are looking to add a week on either before or after possibly in the Lake District or Peak district.

So can anyone recommend a log cabin/cottage that has a hot tub - an open fire too would be perfect.

We realise that it might have to be only 5 days as we cant arrive until the Sunday - unless we go the week before.

We also want somewhere that has a decent cancellation policy - I've seen 3 or 4 outstanding cottages but they want to keep either the full deposit or the full amount - and at up to £1000 for a week we really dont want to go down that route in the current situation!

Have a look at hoseasons lodges with hot tubs, we’ve been to a few in the area and they’ve always been very good, deposit is usually only about £25.
