Thanks for all the comments so far folks. Time now for a trip to Artist Point for dinner. A nice stroll from our cabin to the WL main building for this ADR.

An Uncle Val (left) and a North Flight martini ( right)

Mushroom soup

Mussels

Duck papperdelle

Filet mignon with pee wee potatoes

Peach creme brûlée

It was faultless - service top notch, food perfectly cooked and tasted excellent. Going to return on our last night in the cabin to try some different things !

Lovely report. Very well presented.

UC food looked very nice. I must try that chicken if they still have it on in August. Jiko's. I picked up on a comment you made about it 'slightly missing something'. We have found that over the last 9 months or so. In fact we have dropped it down our list to now sit just behind Citricos. It's still brilliant but lacks a bit of zing we feel.
Maybe because they lost the Head Chef to the CG?
Lunches aren't us but yours look very nice.
Now we come to the Artist Point, one of our Spring and Fall favourites albeit we always have the fish.
The duck and the steak look outstanding albeit I was somewhat surprised at the lack of sides with the steak? Was that it? If so they have cut down.
But not to detract from it as it is always good there.
Well done.

Exactly it's the zing it's missing. I've had that short rib a good few times over the last few years and the server always asks ' are you ok with a little spice in there?' Now it's never been overly spiced at all but now's it just a red wine type gravy. Nothing wrong with that - it was still tasty but just not very African which is supposed to be the reason we are going to Jiko in the first place.

That was it on the steak - the roasted spring onion. It did look a little bare when it arrived. Luckily the steak was full of flavour and perfectly cooked. A piece or two of asparagus or the odd mushroom scattered about might have brought the plate to life a bit though. Potatoes were delicious - the brown powder was a roasted cocoa seasoning sounded weird but tasted brill.
