Busch gardens last Wednesday - total disappointment

Did anyone else go to BG last Wednesday and have more luck than us?

So on our 4th visit to Florida thought we would try BG for the first time.
Arrived before opening to try and get as much done earlier on. Checked forecast and storms due around 4pm

At the gates, board up saying cobras curse, the train and pirate ship would be closed all day. Great.

Went straight to cheetah hunt - closed due to technical problems and never actually opened before we left.

DH and DS rode Montu. Then we did Scorpion. DD wanted to do sand serpent- closed due to technical problems

Started to queue for the rapids - then closed due to lightning. Decided to get lunch. Rides running again.
Got in queue for log flume - which they then shut due to some problem

Some of the shows weren’t on and a lot of the kiosks shut too.

Ended up leaving at 2 as so fed up!

The humidity was really bad that day, daughter had a bit of a funny turn and hit the worst rainfall in drive back just topped the day off!

Don’t think we’ll go back.

went on Monday and the train ride was off all day, but they advertised that on the entry gate.

2 coasters went down during the day but the rest were okay.
tbf, while at Mk we had splash mountain down for 30mins, and Thunder railroad down almost all of one day. Plus we got stuck on slinky dog half-way round.

15mins stuck on Slinky in the mid-day heat having Qd for 60mins...and offered the world's smallest bottle of water and FP for any ride outside of TSL....

with the mount of customers and use its going to happen but its not just BG

We were there on the 22/8 and had the best day, no rain or thunder storms it's beautiful park some of the best rides the only problem we had was entering the park it took too long.

Our first ever visits to BG on 12th and 21st August. Thought we'd give it a try this time on our 4th Florida visit. Had positive recommendations from friends.

We were very underwhelmed.

12th was our first day after arrival so in hindsight we were tired and probably could have done with a pool day to get over travelling. Storm hit just after we got in queue for Cheetah Hunt (obv. not BG fault) but decided to wait it out in the queue rather than get wet. Only got on a couple more rides before heading home. Very rude cast member called Burke at on of the stations on the train ride.

Second day Montu was down after we first rode it at beginning of day. Cobras Curse down all day so never got to ride it on either visit. On second visit only one loading station in operation on Cheetah Hunt (2 or 3 trains) so loading was rreeaalllyy slow.

Those rides that we did do were good - DH and DD even braved Falcons Fury! Thought Kumba was a bit rough.

We won't be rushing back on future visits. Plenty of scope for improvement esp. customer service. Unexpectedly we preferred SeaWorld which we haven't visited for around 10 years.

We're due to go Monday. It's our last day before flying home
I hope it's a good one.

Only problem with Busch Gardens is lack of indoor attractions (though the ice skating show is good) and it being so far away. If there is a storm everything closes down and unlike Seaworld you can't just nip back to the hotel.

We went 3 times in August. On all 3 occasions rides were closed for a couple of hours due to weather. We still went back though as the coasters are so good and there are some great animals to look at (gators in particular)

Always found the staff to be fine

Still love Busch Gardens

We had that problem one year.

Due to weather all rides and tours were closed from 11am until about 4pm. We only had a tiny arcade to keep us entertained.

Our problem was that we’d got the Busch coach there from IDrive and weather or not, it picks up at 6pm regardless so we were stuck there all day.

Luck of the draw I suppose.

I don’t mind the rides going down for weather really but just our luck that so many had technical difficulties. Our first day at AK Everest was down all day. Went back in evening as it was back up - even though shattered as our first day. Had booked fast pass for dinosaur and that had gone down.

Also got stuck in queue on space Mountain for an hour and 20 mins (wait time was 25), which then made us late for dinner reservation

We had others aswell, never known so many going down before

We went last Tuesday and Cobras curse was shut. Raiders were intermittent due to thunder storms within 8 mile radius.
Can't do much about thunderstorms so just had to accept it and try not to sulk

I went twice at the end of August. First day only Falcons Fury was down, second day Cobras Curse was. Thunder storms by 5pm each day which shut everything.

Only Cheetah Hunt had a 30min wait, other rides were 5-10 at most, thoroughly enjoyed both days.

Sorry to hear you had such an unlucky day, but I would give it another go especially if you and the family are into thrill rides.
