Do these plug in thingys only really work if they are on the same ring main? Daughters bedroom is in our extension and on a different circuit to the one our router is on so do I need something different please as she struggles with connection. Thanks

The work on the same board, can be on different rings in most cases.

It's when you have different main boards they usually don't work.

Huge thank you. After Dibbers recommendations on here I bought this one earlier in the week
amazon/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I now have WiFi in my outside building with laundry / treadmill in. WiFi now reaches. Very simple to set up - had to use set up instructions 2 which was downloading an app and then putting the WiFi code in from there. Put the extender in socket nearest garden and hey presto. Really impressed as previous virgin media extenders did NOT work. Highly recommend this one. Thank you Dibbers 😊👍
